Where The Planes Become Stars

about

The story behind this song:

I was on a flight from Chicago to San Francisco. The pilot came on the intercom and said that we were running low on fuel and that the plane couldn't handle this weather.

What came next was some of the craziest turbulence I had experienced in my entire life. I went to text some loved ones goodbye only for the connection to drop. I made a playlist of the final songs I would listen to as I thought this could very well be the end of my life.

While everything was happening, I thought back to this beach in the northern part of Chicago. You can see the flights to O'Hare glistening like stars above us. I thought of this place as "Where The Planes Become Stars".

I found myself reflecting on life through all of this, but ultimately wishing that I was on the ground looking up with someone I love dearly. Thinking back to a night we spent "Where The Planes Become Stars".

lyrics

Is this just the start or the end of everything
I find comfort in between
The clouds beneath my feet are shimmering
As acceptance supersedes

And I remember the scenes
Wishing on planes
Drifting over the beach

Where the planes becomes stars
And the world is just too far
As the ashes fall we all
Fade into something more

As the engine gives away
Nostalgia finds its place
How I long to be back home with you looking up

Where the planes become stars

My breath slows
As the pilot begins to speak
The words fall with everything

In my hands I hold the last songs I'll ever play
What blessings they've been to me

And I remember the scenes
Holding you so close to me
With the years still within reach

Where the planes becomes stars
And the world is just too far
As the ashes fall we all
Fade into something more

As the engine gives away
Nostalgia find its place
How I long to be back home with you looking up

Where the planes become stars

In an attempt to send my final goodbyes
The connection fades before my eyes
And suddenly I am alone

And suddenly I am alone
And suddenly I am alone
Alone, alone, alone
And suddenly I am alone

How I long to be back home with you looking up
Where the planes become stars
